
Doris Ruth Eikhof, PhD
Doris specialises in diversity and inclusion in cultural work. Doris’ book Diversity & Inclusion: Are We Nearly There Yet? (Routledge, 2024) provides new frameworks and evidence for using targets to build a more inclusive creative economy. Doris has led/co-led more than 25 research projects, including for and with the British Film Institute, British Screen Forum, ScreenSkills, CDN, Creative Industries Council, Creative Scotland and Nesta. She works closely with industry and policy stakeholders, including on the BFI Research Advisory Group, Creative Scotland EDI Advisory Board 2020-2023, the National Partnership for Culture’s Measuring Change Group, the EDI Advisory Board for SiGN/XR Stories and BAFTA’s 2020 Review.
Doris is the University of Glasgow’s Academic Lead for Inclusive Research Practice and the Director of ArtsLab, the College of Arts & Humanities’ academic-led hub for supporting research and knowledge exchange. She is a member of the REF 2029 People and Diversity Advisory Panel, and CEO & Creative Director of Design Otherwise, a University of Glasgow spin-out company dedicated to improving inclusion and social justice in the cultural economy and beyond.
