Jo Marriott (she/her)
Executive Director, Communications and Development at Teesside University
Jo is a lapsed scientist who found her own niche in communications and engagement.
Following completion of her PhD, Jo moved into science communication and public engagement, setting up award-winning science festivals and outreach activity. She now leads communications and fundraising at Teesside University, and is the executive lead for social responsibility.
Jo believes in the wider value of universities and is committed to ensuring that the sector makes a difference. She acts as an Expert in Public Engagement for the European Research Council and is a trustee of the charity Key Unlocking Futures.
