Dr Lesley Paterson is the Director of Mesh Associates and has over two decades of experience in engaged research, evaluation, research impact, and funding development. She was a joint sub-panel Impact Assessor for the Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021) for Biological Sciences and Engineering; is currently appointed to the Swedish Research Council’s expert panel for the evaluation of medical research and socio-economic impact; and co-leads the Impact Fellowship Scheme for the Arts and Humanities Faculty at King’s College London. She supports universities, both here in the UK and Hong Kong, in the development of REF Impact Cases Studies. She previously served as the University of Oxford’s inaugural Head of Public Engagement with Research from 2015 to 2021, spearheading a transformative approach to engaged research.
