Why we've signed the Manifesto

“Universities have a duty to promote and to support education, in its many forms, and to be good neighbours to the communities of which they are part. At the University of Nottingham, we are committed to fostering the broader social good, especially by opening up our environment and resources for greater use by the public, helping to inspire people to learn in new ways, and contributing actively to key civic agendas. On behalf of the University community, I unreservedly support the manifesto for public engagement, and encourage others to do so as well.”
