NCCPE cancellation policies
COVID-19 considerations and cancellation policy
We acknowledge that we are still living with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision to return to running in-person events after the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown was made in light of feedback from event participants. We appreciate that in-person and online events have specific benefits and challenges, and offer different levels of inclusivity and accessibility to participants. By continuing to offer both in-person and online events, we hope to cater to various interests and needs of our delegates.
We remain committed to the health and wellbeing of event attendees, venue staff, NCCPE staff and the wider community. If you are showing signs of and/ or have tested positive for COVID-19, please do not attend an in-person event. Your ticket will be refunded (proportionally if you are taking part in a long-term programme), and you can participate in the event online if this is part of the offer.
If the situation changes, we may have to cancel the in-person element of the event and move the whole event online. This is detailed below.
Why would we cancel an in-person event?
- If the government were to put the country, or areas of the country back into lockdown, all in-person events would be cancelled.
- If absence within the NCCPE team or wider event team impacts the development or delivery of the event in a way that makes it unfeasible to run.
- In addition, an in-person event may be cancelled in response to prevailing conditions in the run-up to the event, on the advice of the NCCPE’s host universities.
Where possible, notice of cancellation of an in-person event will be made at least 4 weeks in advance. If the event is cancelled, delegates will be able to attend the event online. Delegates will be refunded proportionally.
