Enhancing Place-Based Partnerships final report
NCCPE supported UKRI's funding call for collaborative, place-based public engagement between research organisations, partner organisations and communities between 2019 and 2021.
NCCPE worked with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) to provide support for 25 funded projects that enabled members of the public to actively contribute to research and innovation projects that affect their lives.
Through the EPPE programme, UKRI allocated £1.4m of funding to the projects; they are all driven by a geographically defined community’s need, which can be addressed by research and innovation in order to shape and generate new learning.
The projects covered a diverse range of topics from plastic pollution to period poverty, and net zero carbon emissions to air quality. Each of them actively encouraged people who would not usually get involved in research to take part in ground-breaking discovery and innovation.
