Meet the winners of our 2024 Watermark Awards

We're thrilled to announce the two institutions that have won an Engage Watermark Award after completing the process in 2024.
The University of Suffolk and Robert Gordon University both gained a bronze award, indicating their clear commitment to developing and enhancing their approach to public engagement.
NCCPE Co-director, Sophie Duncan, said "We were inspired by the Suffolk's commitments to making an impact locally, and their excellent engagement with local organisations to address community needs. We are excited to see how the university builds on these strong foundations to grow and develop their engagement work”.
Co-director Paul Manners said: "Getting to know the engagement work underway at Robert Gordon University, and the rich and varied ways in which engagement is threaded through research and teaching, has been a delight. Robert Gordon is a university that cares deeply about its communities and how to work meaningfully with them".
The Engage Watermark is a national award granted to higher education institutions, research centres, and individual faculties or schools in recognition of their strategic support for public engagement and their commitment to improvement.
Winning a Bronze Engage Watermark is a significant achievement and demonstrates an institution’s clear commitment to developing and enhancing approach to public engagement. To gain the award, an institution must demonstrate an understanding of current strengths and weaknesses and have an action plan and resources allocated to make improvements.
