Applying to join a REF Panel

The REF team are recruiting experts to join their assessment panels for REF 2029. This includes people with expertise relevant to two of the REF profiles: Research Impact and Engagement and People, Culture, and Environment, as well as subject specialists.

We are keen to support strong applications from across our network, and for our network to reach out to encourage others to apply that meet their criteria. The REF team are asking for ‘applications from individuals with a wide range of expertise and experience, including those from underrepresented groups, diverse research backgrounds and practices, or individuals outside of academia who engage with research’.  

To support this the NCCPE will be running a briefing session from 10.30 to 11.30 on Friday 7th March. In the session, we will run through the requirements and the process. We will bring together a panel of people who served on the REF 2021 panels, to describe their experiences and to help you think about how to develop a strong application.
